THYROAIDE

HERBS and VITAMINS for Thyroid Problems

(Ingredients per 2 capsules)

L-TYROSINE    250 mg
L-Tyrosine and iodine (found in Kelp) are important actors in the production of thyroxine (T4).  Without thyroxine, the body's metabolic rate decreases and results in an inability of the body to obtain energy from food.  The individual is fatigue and weight gain can be easy.

L-Tyrosine also helps in the management of stress, depression and cognitive decline as these symptoms may be associated with insufficient thyroid hormone.

FORSKOHLII EXTRACT   100 mg
Forskihlin's, the active ingredient in Forskohlii extract, can stimulate thyroid hormone release and increase thyroid hormone production, contributing to the increase of metabolic rate and thermogenesis.

FOLIC ACID     600 mcg
Studies have shown that individual with untreated hypothyroidism often have higher levels of homocysteine.  It is well known that high levels of homocysteine leads to elevated LDL cholesterol that in turn increase the risks of cardiovascular disease.
Folic acid as been recognized as a potent suppressing agents for homocysteine and can decreate the risk of cardiovascualr disease.

VITAMIN A  5000 UI
Deficiency of vitamin A may be detrimental to thyroid metabolism and therefore reduce the effectiveness of iodine supplementation.  Vitamin A is also essential for proper incorporation of iodine into the thyroid gland and therefore the synthesis of thyroid hormones.

VITAMIN B6   15mg
Vitamin B 6 along with folic acid is recognized as a potent suppressing agent for homocysteine.
It is well known that high levels of homocysteine leads to elevated LDL cholesterol that in turn increase the risks of cardiovascular disease.
Vitamin B 6 is involved in more than 100 enzymatic reactions including the synthesis of thytoxine.

IODINE   300 mcg
Iodine helps in the maintenance of the thyroid gland.  The healthy human body contains 15 to 20 mg of iodine, approximately 70-80% of which is in the thyroid gland.  The thyroid has to trap 60 mcg of iodine per day to maintain an adequate supply of thyroxine.  Iodine is a necessary supplement for the production of thyroxine and thus, the maintenance of thyroid gland.

SELENIUM   200 mcg
Deficiency of selenium may be detrimental to thyroid metabolism and therefore reduce the effectiveness of iodine supplementation.

ZINC   12 mg
Deficiency of zinc may also be detrimental to thyroid metabolism and therefore reduce the effectiveness of iodine supplementation.

ASHWAGANDHA EXTRACT 6:1    400 mg
There is evidence that ashwagandha might boost thyroid hormone synthesis and/or secretion.
